Hi Y'all

Oh hi there!

lol just sayin' y'all...I don't think I will be picking up that trend, but I just wanted to be funny. he heeeeeee! I just wanted to post our new address! I'll post pictures someday, maybe not that soon, but we live in a really cute little apartment community. You would all love it :) It's just a tiny little studio and Ryk and I are going to make a murphy bed that folds out of a cabinet!!!! We are so excited about it. This is kind of the design we want to go off of, but we want it a different color and all cabinets (no open spaces). It will be like a big wall of storage! There are some REALLY cool ideas of other murphy beds online too, so this might change in a few days...haha I'll post a final picture when we finish it though.

Next off is our new address. It is:

2209 Baldwin #3339
Houston, TX 77002

So anyhow, my conclusion of Texas is this: We love it here so far! The people are just as annoying when they're in Utah telling you about how wonderful it is and how it's the best place on earth...but it's kinda cute :) They are just really proud of where they come from (in a good way), but it gets a little old sometimes.

We aren't going to make it to Utah for Christmas...Val and Kay are coming out here and Ryk only have Christmas and the weekend off, so we're pretty we set in here, but love to hear about everyone's plans. We want to skype everyone :) I love skypeeeen!

Ok I think that's all the news. Hope everyone is doing great. Cori I'll be watching your shows in a little bit, just been kinda busy unpacking.

We love you tons and tons!

A taste of the prarie

Hey pals! I have discovered a super funny tv show all about life in Saskatchewan. It's made by a local comedian named Brent Butt. How could this guy not be funny!?

It is called Corner Gas and you can watch the episodes online at:

http://tv.blinkx.com/show/corner-gas/1ggSm9iqpKxXtxI2Ia5rpycx_0g#s1e1

You have to watch in 2 or 3 parts because it is through youtube, but it's worth it. Apparently this is just what life is like in small prarie towns and when they talk about going into the city, they mean Regina where I live. Sometimes they even show it. :)

Flashback

Oh hi!! Sooo.....I happened to be going through the few actual photo prints that I have (hoping to find a few of Levi) and I found some absolutely HILARIOUS pictures. I'm just posting them all with no captions because I don't even know where all of them are. Can I just say that I absolutely love our clothes, how scraggly we all look, and how much I loved my childhood!

Heiner Family Reunion

Oh hi!
Ok so first off, Ryk put up a humming bird feeder and the word finally got out! We have lots of humming birds now :)

We went to San Diego and here's the temple. I'll post more pics of the reunion later, but this is what I got from my camera. I'll put Kay's pics up later. We went to Sea World and guess what?!?!?!? Ryk got bit by a penguin! he heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

On the way home from Cali, we saw a BAZILLION windmills! It was awesome. Cori, I thought you'd especially like this.

Just as an update, we have talked to Service Managers with BMW in Seattle and Houston. They both want to interview Ryk. Seattle wants to interview him in late September because they're relocating and expanding (doubling their tech staff) and Houston wants him to call back tomorrow and ask every question he has for them. Houston has awesome tuition reimbursement and Seattle has a cool apprenticeship program set up. So...we'll see! We're kind of torn as far as location goes because Seattle sounds lovely, but a little more expensive to live...and Houston is by the beach, but kinda humid...and let's admit, I pretty much hate everyone I've met that's from Texas. lol. But I don't know, maybe it really IS the best place on earth like they seem to think it is. hahahaha.

Ok well, I'll keep you updated and hope that you all will do the same!
Love,
Ryk, Jessi, & Chaunce

The view from Canada

So here are a few pictures to show you what things are like here in Canada :) i hope you are all doing well. I miss you loads!

This is the view from my balconey to the south. This is the Provincial legislature building. If you can see the water just below and the green all around, that is Wascana Park - the largest urban park in North America (even bigger than Central Park).

These are picutures from my balcony to the North and West. It's nice living on the 19th floor :) check out that prairie on the horizon. I feel like I can see forever.

This is my office, or at least the half I could fit in the picture. As you'll notice it is not at all decorated (although, I have since installed an adorable snap of Nuno as a starfish), so I would be happy for any advice. :)

This is the view from my office window. Right now, it is great, but I'm not deluding myself about the white months ahead.

This is a picture of my building from the front. My office window looks out the back toward the main part of campus.

And, last but not least, this is Nuno and my (mostly Nuno's :) new car.

Some honeymoon pics

Hi everyone! I finally downloaded my pictures from the honeymoon, so I'm posting a few.
This is us with our friend Lindsay who took us kayaking in the outer banks. We saw otters! It was very cool.

These were the awesome alligators in the Everglades. They were so close, we could have touched them!

This is a turkey vulture and a great blue heron (also in the Everglades)
